This product contains 2 medications, budesonide and formoterol. It is an inhaler used as a long-term (maintenance) treatment to prevent or decrease wheezing and trouble breathing caused by asthma. It works in the airways by decreasing swelling and relaxing muscles. Controlling symptoms of breathing problems can decrease time lost from work or school. This product should not be used to treat sudden attacks of breathing trouble. Your doctor should prescribe a quick-relief inhaler (e.g., albuterol/salbutamol) for sudden shortness of breath/asthma attacks while you are using this medication. You should always have a quick-relief inhaler with you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. In patients with asthma, this medication should not be used when breathing problems can be controlled with inhaled corticosteroids (e.g., flunisolide, fluticasone) and occasional use of quick-relief inhalers. (See also Warning section.)If you are regularly taking corticosteroids by mouth (e.g., prednisone), you should not stop using them or use this inhaled medication instead. Continue to follow your doctor's instructions on taking the corticosteroids by mouth. How to use Symbicort InhlRead the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist before you start using this medication and each time you get a refill. Refer to the illustrated directions provided by the manufacturer for directions on how to use this inhaler. If any of the information is unclear, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Before each dose, shake the inhaler well for 5 seconds. Inhale this medication by mouth, usually twice daily or as directed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Use this medication regularly to receive the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same times each day. The manufacturer recommends that adults and children older than 11 years should not use more than 4 inhalations daily. Do not use this medication more frequently or use more inhalations than prescribed. Doing so may increase the risk of side effects.Gargle and rinse your mouth with water after using this medication to help prevent dryness and mouth infections (e.g., thrush) and relieve throat irritation. Do not swallow the rinse water. To clean your inhaler, wipe the outside of the mouthpiece once a week with a dry tissue. Do not use water or other liquids. Do not take the inhaler apart.Do not stop using this medication or change your dose without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased. If you have been using a quick-relief inhaler (e.g., albuterol/salbutamol) on a regular daily schedule (such as 4 times daily), you must stop this schedule and only use the quick-relief inhaler as needed for sudden shortness of breath/asthma attacks. Consult your doctor for details. If this medication stops working well, or if you need to use your quick-relief inhaler more often than usual (4 or more puffs daily or use of more than 1 inhaler every 8 weeks), seek immediate medical attention. It may be a sign of worsening asthma, which is a serious condition. It may take 1 week or longer before you get the full benefit of this drug. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Symbicort Inhl is used to treat the following:Asthma Clozapine is used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions) in patients who have not been helped by other medications or who have tried to kill themselves and are likely to try to kill or harm themselves again. Clozapine is in a class of medications called atypical antipsychotics. It works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.Clozapine comes as a tablet and an orally disintegrating tablet (tablet that dissolves quickly in the mouth) to take by mouth. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat or prevent certain infections caused by bacteria. Ciprofloxacin is also used to treat or prevent anthrax in people who may have been exposed to anthrax germs in the air. Ciprofloxacin extended-release (long-acting) tablets are used only to treat certain types of urinary tract infections. Ciprofloxacin is in a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing bacteria.Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.Ciprofloxacin comes as a tablet, a suspension (liquid) and an extended-release tablet to take by mouth. The tablet and suspension are usually taken twice a day in the morning and evening with or without food. The extended-release tablets are usually taken once a day.Cipro XR brand extended-release tablets may be taken with or without food. Proquin XR brand extended-release tablets should be taken with a main meal of the day, preferably the evening meal. Take ciprofloxacin at around the same time(s) every day. If you cannot swallow tablets whole, tell your doctor. If you are taking the liquid, shake the bottle very well for 15 seconds before each use to mix the medication evenly. Swallow the correct dose without chewing the granules in the liquid. Close the liquid ciprofloxacin bottle completely after each use. Do not give the liquid to a patient through a feeding tube. You should begin feeling better during the first few days of treatment with ciprofloxacin. If your symptoms do not improve, or if they get worse, call your doctor. Fever and back pain may be symptoms of a worsening urinary tract infection. If you are being treated for this type of infection, call your doctor if you develop these symptoms during or after your treatmentTake ciprofloxacin until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better. If you stop taking ciprofloxacin too soon or if you skip doses, your infection may not be completely treated and the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics. In the event of biological warfare, ciprofloxacin may be used to treat and prevent dangerous illnesses that are deliberately spread such as plague, tularemia, and anthrax of the skin or mouth. Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition. Tibolone, which is a synthetic steroid medicine used for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It mimics the activity of the female sex hormones oestrogen and progesterone and the androgen testosterone in the body.Oestrogen is the main sex hormone in the female body. Certain parts of the body, such as the vagina, bones and breasts, rely on oestrogens to function normally. When the levels of oestrogen are low, these tissues can slowly degenerate, as is experienced during and following the menopause. In addition, low levels of oestrogen can cause distressing symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings or depressed mood, reduced sex drive and vaginal dryness. Oestrogen levels decrease naturally during the menopause, but also decrease following a hysterectomy (surgical menopause) and in women taking medicines called gonadorelin analogues, eg leuprorelin for endometriosis. When taken by mouth, tibolone is broken down into three compounds that act in a similar way to the natural oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone found in the body. This helps restore the balance of hormones in the body and reduces the symptoms of menopause, whether natural or otherwise.Tibolone is also sometimes used to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. The declining level of oestrogen at menopause can affect the bones, causing them to become thinner and more prone to breaking. Tibolone's oestrogenic effect can help prevent bone loss and fractures that may occur in women in the years after menopause. However, it is only used as a second-line option for women at high risk of fractures who cannot take other medicines that are licensed for preventing osteoporosis. Women considered to be at high risk of developing fractures following the menopause include those who have had an early menopause, those with a family history of osteoporosis, those who have had recent prolonged corticosteroid therapy (eg prednisolone), those with a small thin frame, and smokers. Women experiencing a natural menopause should not start treatment with this medicine until twelve months after their last natural menstrual bleed. This is because the medicine may cause irregular menstrual bleeding if it is started sooner than this.Women who have had a surgical menopause or are taking gonadorelin analogues can start treatment immediately. What is it used for? Relieving the symptoms of oestrogen deficiency (eg hot flushes, decreased sex drive, depression) in women who have gone through the menopause.Prevention of osteoporosis in women who have gone through the menopause and are at high risk of fractures, but cannot take other medicines used to prevent osteoporosis.
Valproic acid is used alone or with other medications to treat certain types of seizures. Valproic acid is also used to treat mania (episodes of frenzied, abnormally excited mood) in people with bipolar disorder (manic-depressive disorder; a disease that causes episodes of depression, episodes of mania, and other abnormal moods). It is also used to prevent migraine headaches, but not to relieve headaches that have already begun. Valproic acid is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. It works by increasing the amount of a certain natural substance in the brain.Valproic acid comes as a capsule, an extended-release (long-acting) tablet, a delayed-release (slow to begin working) tablet, a sprinkle capsule (capsule that contains small beads of medication that can be sprinkled on food), and a syrup (liquid) to take by mouth. The syrup, capsules, delayed-release tablets, and sprinkle capsules are usually taken two or more times daily. The extended-release tablets are usually taken once a day. Take valproic acid at around the same time(s) every day. Take valproic acid with food to help prevent the medication from upsetting your stomach. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take valproic acid exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.Swallow the regular capsules and extended-release tablets whole; do not split, chew, or crush them. You can swallow the sprinkle capsules whole, or you can open the capsules and sprinkle the beads they contain on a teaspoonful of soft food, such as applesauce or pudding. Swallow the mixture of food and medication beads right after you prepare it. Be careful not to chew the beads. Do not store unused mixtures of food and medication.Do not mix the syrup into any carbonated drink.Your doctor may start you on a low dose of valproic acid and gradually increase your dose, not more often than once a week.Valproic acid may help to control your condition but will not cure it. Continue to take valproic acid even if you feel well. Do not stop taking valproic acid without talking to your doctor. If you suddenly stop taking valproic acid, you may experience a severe, long-lasting and possibly life-threatening seizure. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.Valproic acid is also sometimes used to treat outbursts of aggression in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD; more difficulty focusing or remaining still or quiet than other people who are the same age), chorea (a group of conditions that affect the ability to control body movements), and certain conditions that affect thinking, learning, and understanding. Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition. Sumatriptan is a headache medicine. It is believed to work by narrowing the blood vessels around the brain. Sumatriptan also reduces substances in the body that can trigger headache pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other migraine symptoms.Sumatriptan tablets and nasal spray are used to treat migraine headaches.Sumatriptan will only treat a headache that has already begun. It will not prevent headaches or reduce the number of attacks.
This medication is used to improve the symptoms of a certain blood flow problem in the legs/arms (intermittent claudication due to occlusive artery disease). Pentoxifylline can decrease the muscle aching/pain/cramps with exercise, including walking, that occur with intermittent claudication. Pentoxifylline belongs to a class of drugs known as hemorrheologic agents. It works by helping blood flow more easily through narrowed arteries. This increases the amount of oxygen that can be delivered by the blood when the muscles need more (e.g., during exercise).OTHER USES: This section contains uses of this drug that are not listed in the approved professional labeling for the drug but that may be prescribed by your health care professional. Use this drug for a condition that is listed in this section only if it has been so prescribed by your health care professional. This drug may also be used for decreased blood flow to the brain (cerebrovascular insufficiency), to improve blood flow problems in chronic heart failure, and to treat kidney problems from diabetes. How to use Flexital OralTake this medication by mouth with food, usually 3 times daily or as directed by your doctor. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Doing so can destroy the long action of the drug and may increase side effects.Dosage is based on your medical condition, kidney function, and response to therapy.Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same times each day. It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. Do not stop this medication without your doctor's permission. Linezolid is an antibiotic used to treat certain serious bacterial infections that have not responded to other antibiotics (resistant infections). It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness. How to use Linospan OralTake this medication by mouth with or without food, usually every 12 hours or as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. In children, the dosage may also be based on weight, and they may be directed to take this medication every 8 hours.Linezolid is related to a group of drugs called MAO inhibitors. Certain foods interact with MAO inhibitors, causing severe headache and increased blood pressure. This could lead to a medical emergency. Therefore, it is important to avoid or limit intake of these foods to reduce your risk of these serious problems. (See Drug Interactions section).Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, take this drug at evenly spaced intervals. To help you remember, take it at the same times each day.Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection. Atorvastatin (a-TOR-va-stat-in) is used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride (fat-like substances) levels in the blood. Using this medicine may help prevent medical problems caused by such substances clogging the blood vessels. This medicine may also be used to prevent certain types of heart problems in adults with risk factors for heart problems.Atorvastatin belongs to the group of medicines called 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitors. It works by blocking an enzyme that is needed by the body to make cholesterol, thereby reducing the amount of cholesterol in the blood.Atorvastatin is a cholesterol-lowering drug. Your doctor may prescribe it along with a special diet if your blood cholesterol or triglyceride level is high and you have been unable to lower your readings by diet alone. The drug works by helping to clear harmful low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol out of the blood and by limiting the body's ability to form new LDL cholesterol.Your doctor may prescribe Atorvastatin to reduce your chances of having a heart attack or developing heart disease if you have any of the following risk factors:Are age 55 years or older. Smoke. Have high blood pressure. Have low levels of HDL (high-density lipoprotein--the good cholesterol). Have a family history of early heart disease. For those at low risk, a medication is considered at readings of 190 or more.Lowering high cholesterol and triglycerides in certain patients. It also increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL, "good") cholesterol levels. It is used along with an appropriate diet. It is used in certain patients to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, chest pain caused by angina, or blood vessel blockage. It is also used in certain patients to reduce the risk of hospitalization for congestive heart failure, or the need for medical procedures to open blocked heart blood vessels. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Medroxyprogesterone is used to treat abnormal menstruation (periods) or irregular vaginal bleeding. Medroxyprogesterone is also used to bring on a normal menstrual cycle in women who menstruated normally in the past but have not menstruated for at least 6 months and who are not pregnant or undergoing menopause (change of life).Medroxyprogesterone is also used to prevent overgrowth of the lining of the uterus (womb) and may decrease the risk of cancer of the uterus in patients who are taking estrogen. It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. (NB. Erythromycin is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.) Erythromycin works by preventing bacteria from producing proteins that are essential to them. Without these proteins the bacteria cannot grow, replicate and increase in numbers. Erythromycin doesnÆt directly kill the bacteria, but leaves them unable to increase in numbers. The remaining bacteria eventually die or are destroyed by the immune system. This treats the infection.Erythromycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against a wide variety of bacteria that cause a wide variety of infections. Erythromycin may be used to treat infections of the upper or lower airways, skin or soft tissue, eyes or ears. It may also be used to treat certain sexually-transmitted infections, oral and dental infections, and to prevent infections in people who are at risk, for example due to surgery, trauma or burns. Erythromycin is also used for treating inflammatory acne, as it is active against the bacteria associated with acne, Propionebacterium acnes. This is a common type of bacteria that feeds on sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin. It produces waste products and fatty acids that irritate the sebaceous glands, making them inflamed and causing spots. By controlling bacterial numbers, erythromycin brings the inflammation of the sebaceous glands under control, and allows the skin to heal. (Other antibiotics may be preferred for acne however, as strains of the Propionebacterium that are resistant to erythromycin are becoming widespread.) To make sure the bacteria causing an infection are susceptible to erythromycin your doctor may take a tissue sample, for example a swab from the throat or skin.Erythromycin has a similar range of antibacterial activity to penicillin and so is also useful as an alternative to penicillin in people who are allergic to penicillins. What is it used for? Bacterial infections of the lungs (chest or lower respiratory tract), eg bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, Legionnaires' disease.Bacterial infection of the nasal passages, sinuses or throat (upper respiratory tract infection), eg sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis.Whooping cough.Bacterial infection of the middle ear (otitis media) or outer ear canal (otitis externa).Bacterial mouth infections, eg gum disease (gingivitis), Vincent's angina.Bacterial infection of the eyelids (blepharitis).Bacterial infections of the skin or soft tissue, eg boils, abscesses, cellulitis, impetigo, erysipelas.Acne.Chronic inflammatory disorder of the facial skin (acne rosacea).Bacterial infections of the stomach and intestines.Inflammation of bone due to bacterial infection (osteomyelitis).Inflammation of the urethra due to bacterial infection (urethritis).Inflammation of the prostate gland due to bacterial infection (prostatitis).Gonorrhoea.Syphilis.Diphtheria.Scarlet fever.Prevention of bacterial infection following surgery, burns, trauma or dental procedures.
